The Rex Theatre

Our versatile 300-seat venue for musicians, theatre, comedy, community events, and more.

A tribute band performance venue near Nashua, NH

Our History

Originally a printing press, the Rex served as a movie theatre from the 1940s to 1980s. 1989 saw the end of the Rex’s life as a movie house. The property then changed hands several times, functioning as a series of nightclubs. In 2016, the building was purchased by the Manchester Development Corporation (MDC). The Palace Theatre Trust entered into a private-public partnership with MDC in October 2018 with the shared goal of reviving the Rex and opening the space as a theatre once again.

On October 30, 2019 we opened the doors of the Rex Theatre, a state-of-the-art, 300-seat performance venue. In the four months the Rex was open before temporarily shutting down due to COVID-19, we began to see the possibilities of this new cultural resource. This venue has added immensely to our existing performance capabilities. We look forward to experiencing the growth of the Palace Theatre Trust’s newest addition.

Dueling Pianos: Live at the Rex

What are dueling pianos?  Dueling piano shows are request-oriented, interactive sing-a-long shows wherein two piano players sit across from each other and trade songs. For this show, you can request as many love songs as you want. It has been said that a dueling piano show is quite literally “the most fun one can have with one’s clothes On!”I have to agree! It is a massive “to the top of your lungs” sing-along with all your friends while drinking to excess! Two grand pianos are center-stage with a team of outrageously talented pianists who seem to know every song ever written. Each show is different because it’s all requested and you or your friends might even get called up on stage for a bit of good-humored fun and some unforgettable u- tube moments. Think YOU won’t sing along…Just TRY not too…. I dare ya! – Bill Connors Buy Tickets

Skynyrd’s Hatchet

Skynyrd’s Hatchet combines the music of two of Southern Rock’s greatest bands to provide a high-energy guitar-driven experience that harkens back to the great old days of 70s rock. With a focus on musically accurate performances – both instrumentally and vocally – the band’s repertoire features all of the best hits as well as a few deep-cut fan favorites from two great arena rock legends. From the opening riffs of “Gimme Three Steps” to the dueling guitars of “Flirtin’ With Disaster” and the crescendo that is “Freebird”, Skynyrd’s Hatchet provides audiences with a high-energy performance that harkens back to the early days of arena rock. The Love Dogs

Part of The Prime of Life Music Series Take one red-hot horn section – we’re talkin’ alto, tenor, baritone saxes and trombone – down and dirty. Add liberal amounts of barrelhouse boogie-woogie piano and stinging Fender guitar. Pour over a funky and swinging rhythm section that Blues Review magazine called “the best in the business”, and top it all off with a crazy and charismatic front man with one of the biggest blues voices around. Season with a few years on the road tearing up juke joints, festivals and concert halls across the U.S. and Canada and on both sides of the Atlantic. Sound tasty? It’s a recipe for music and mayhem, for intensity and irreverence; it’s THE LOVE DOGS. Buy Tickets Sponsored by: Hillsbrook Village
