Join Fox Business Network host Trish Regan to celebrate the First Amendment and those who exemplify it in New Hampshire.
The 17th annual event, presented by People’s United Bank, supports the non-profit Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, where media and business professionals from around New Hampshire teach free classes and low-cost workshops on the First Amendment, writing, photography, social media and other communications topics.
The event honors a New Hampshire individual or group who went above and beyond in 2019 to protect or embody the rights guaranteed in the First Amendment. The recipient will be announced this fall.
First Amendment Award Recipient: The late Dr. William ‘Ed’ Kois, the Veterans Administration doctor whose disclosures about poor conditions and treatment at the VA Medical Center in Manchester led to system-wide changes there and a review of conditions at VA facilities around the country. Dr. Kois died this summer.
Quill & Ink Award Recipient: David Tirrell-Wysocki, Executive Director, Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, who is retiring at the end of the year after 20 years at the school as an instructor, curriculum coordinator and executive director.
