Song crafter, blues explorer, mystery muser Paul Nelson brings the music home. Traveling through a landscape of blues/roots and popfolk, Paul delivers a musical experience that captures and inspires, with heartfelt, rootsy songwriting and passionate live performances.
Since emerging onto the music scene in 2018 and Paul has been playing regularly around New England, including opening for acts like folk icon Ellis Paul at Club Passim in Cambridge and playing the acoustic stage at the 2019 Best of NH Party. His music has been featured twice on Boston’s 92.5 The River’s Homegrown Music Showcase this past summer.
Paul’s debut album, Over Under Through (January 2019), has had radio play around the globe on blues/roots, AAA, and folk formats, winning rave reviews across many genres.
Gary Burnett at Down at the Crossroads named Over Under Through among the top 10 Americana releases of 2019 (#4). “This is a beguiling, wonder of an album, a labor of love from a hugely talented artist.”
Jim Hynes, Making a Scene! says “Nelson’s voice is menacingly soulful… the intimacy of his song craft is riveting….you’re mesmerized.”
Nick Phaneuf has made a name for himself as a versatile sideman. He’s backed artists near and far in a variety of styles. From playing country music with Warner Brothers recording artist, Tish Hinojosa, to Rockabilly with NH born Elsa Cross, folk behind Boston’s Dan Blakeslee, and contributing to hiphop group STL GLD’s last two albums, Nick has a deep love for all music and prides himself in making every show more than the sum of its parts.
Born in Lowell, MA, Singer/songwriter Charlie Chronopoulos got his start performing as a guitarist in regional lounges and ballrooms, sharing the stage as a teen with classic acts such as Grand funk railroad, Cheap Trick, and the Doobie Brothers.
He went on to produce his own indie records and as a session guitarist for several multi-platinum and Grammy winning artists including Serj Tankian(System of a Down) and Shirley Manson(Garbage). His career took an unconventional turn when he was invited to work under Tony winner Diane Paulus to perform in several off-broadway productions for the ART at Harvard University. Chronopoulos credits this time with re-invigorating his love of storytelling and performance art, and so he rented mill space in Wilton, NH to start writing and producing his own work with renewed vigor.
His latest effort “Dead end” is a stripped down compilation of songs that play out like short stories, centering around the stories of family and friends he witnessed struggling with addiction during his time performing in lounges in greater Lowell, MA.
While the subject matter is often heavy, Chronopoulos writes with empathy, and a type of war humor that serves to counter the narrative of backwardness and poverty.
