Professional Productions:

Each year from September to May, the Palace produces several professional productions, known as the Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series. Auditions are held in New York City and we bring in the best fresh talent to perform on our stage.

The Shows in our 2009 - 2010 season are:

Forever Plaid

September 18 - October 3, 2009

There were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx, and Frankie) who loved to sing.  En route to pick up their custom-made plaid tuxedos, they were slammed by a school bus and were killed instantly.  Through the power of Harmony and all the other astro-technical  stuff, they are allowed to come back to perform the show they never go to do in life. 

CATS

October 30 - November 14, 2009

See it again! See it for the first time!  A true musical theatre phenomenon, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. 

The Nutcracker

November 27-29, 2009

A Christmas Carol

December 4 - 27, 2009

The Palace Theatre's 9th annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol will be the highlight of the Chriatmas season!  This show features the traditional story of Scrooge and Tiny Tim, told with festive holiday songs and dances performanced by a cast of over 50 actors.

January 15- 23, 2010

Swing Fever

February 12-27, 2010

An original production influenced by the hit show Dancing with the Stars featuring Lindy Hop, East Coast, West Coast, Jitterbug, Shag, and Balboa all danced to the music from the 1920's to the contemporary artists of today.  Featuring a live band with dancers and accomplished vocalists from New York City.

March 26 - April 11, 2010

This ground-breaking Tony & Pulitzer Prize Award winner reinvented musicals when it debuted in 1996.  An inspiring story about friends and artists struggling in New York City's East Village, RENT tackles addiction , poverty, AIDS- and most of all, love.

The hysterical Broadway musical comedy starring a group of unemployed men who are about to be the best male strippers Manchester has ever seen.
