Tony V's Funny Friends

Event Description

Description

Tony V

Tony V started his stand-up comedy career in 1982 after attending several shows at Boston’s prestigious Comedy Connection. He wandered in one night, quite by accident, looking for a little stress relief from a high pressure job as a case worker at the Somerville Mental Health Center. It was not long after that he took to the stage himself. Tony’s street wise humor tempered with a genuine feel for the human condition quickly propelled him to headliner status on the national comedy club circuit.

In 1986 Tony V was named “Funniest Person in Massachusetts” by Showtime television. He followed this achievement with several performances on HBO, the Arts and Entertainment Network, Comedy Central and MTV. From 1987 through 1992 Tony V became the “spokesperson” for American Tourister Luggage. Spending time in New York and L. A. paid off with multiple highly acclaimed appearances on Late Night w/ Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central’s Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn and several sit-coms including Seinfeld, Boston Common, The Single Guy and Dr. Katz Professional Therapist. Tony’s big screen outings include State and Main, Celtic Pride, Housesitter, One Crazy Summer and Shakes the Clown as well as the independently produced By the Sea and Abracadabra. Along with being a popular headliner at clubs and colleges all over the free world, Tony V has worked with Jay Leno, Dennis Miller, Bobcat Goldthwait, Steven Wright, Adam Sandler and countless other friends and nationally known acts. Tony has opened for Kenny Rogers, The Temptations, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Beach Boys and Joan Jett.

Joe Yannetty

Like most native East Bostonians Joe Yannetty is hilarious. He was raised in an inner city Italian neighborhood which means that being funny is not only a survival skill, it is in his blood. Where Joe grew up, if you’re not willing to kill somebody you had better make them laugh.

At the age of 20 Yannetty walked into the Ding Ho Comedy Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Like a little boy’s first time at the circus he was amazed, so he ran away to it and never looked back.

Joe very quickly became one of the top comedians in Boston, and throughout New England. When he moved to New York it wasn’t long before he became a regular at all the most popular clubs in Manhattan.

Los Angeles called and Yannetty headed west. He began headlining clubs all across the United States, and television appearances followed. Joe has logged more than 40 TV shows.

He can be seen in and also wrote the HBO movie SUCKERS for which he won a Best Screenplay award.

A move back to the East Coast brought with it morning radio on two of Boston’s biggest stations, WROR and WZLX. Wanting to expand his horizons Mr. Yannetty took to the seven seas and is currently headlining the world’s largest and most prestigious cruise lines.

Artie Januario

He has become one of the most well-known and respected comedians in the country. Artie makes any show, corporate function, or fundraiser a resounding success.

Carolyn Plummer

Carolyn has worked all over New England and beyond from small towns to large cities. She makes the average seem hilarious and larger than life and leaves audiences hysterically shaking heads in agreement with her assessment that the world is indeed a very funny place

Gus V

Gus V is a rising Boston comic who has been featured in the Hampton beach comedy festival and the Emerson channel comedy special.
