16th Annual Nackey S. Loeb First Amendment Awards

Event Description

Join Ohio Gov. and former presidential candidate John Kasich to celebrate the First Amendment and those who exemplify it in New Hampshire.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is considering challenging President Trump in 2020, will be the featured speaker at the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications 16th annual First Amendment Awards event on Nov 15.
The event honors First Amendment freedoms and New Hampshire residents or organizations, nominated by the public, who work to protect free speech and free press.

This year’s First Amendment Award recipient is Robert Azzi of Exeter, a columnist and speaker who crisscrosses New Hampshire to promote civility and public awareness about Muslims. He has presented his program, “Ask a Muslim Anything,” at more than 50 public events and forums around the state, where he works to encourage tolerance, understanding and interfaith discussion.

The 16th annual event supports the non-profit Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, where media and business professionals from around New Hampshire teach free classes and low-cost workshops on the First Amendment, writing, photography, social media and other communications topics.
The event will honor a New Hampshire individual or group who went above and beyond in 2018 to protect or embody the rights guaranteed in the First Amendment. The recipient will be announced this fall.
